While causalgia most often follows injuries to the median nerve and the medial division of the sciatic nerve,other nerves are sometimes similarly affected.I saw two cases of causalgia of the face,and as such cases are unusual it seems worth while to place them on record.Because of the good results obtained from sympathectomy in many cases of causalgia following injury to other nerves,it was thought that this line of treatment might relieve the face pain in these cases.As will be seen from the case histories,interruption of the sympathetic chain proved successful. |
